Victorian 15kt Diamond & Pearl Starburst Locket
An absolutely gorgeous starburst locket from the Victorian (ca1880) era! This beautiful piece, which is made of 15kt gold, is oval in shape and particularly large in size. Resting on the front is a raised 6-point starburst which adorns 12 old Rose Cut diamonds and a large pearl set in the center. An open channel surrounds the star, forming an interesting cutout effect. A scrolled gold detail rests at the top and attaches to a complimentary floral-like bail. The locket opens to show 2 glass covered black and white photographs. This exceptional piece would be a perfect addition to any Victorian collection!
Measurements: The locket hangs approximately 2 3/8" long, is 1 1/4" wide and 1/4" at the thickest point. The starburst on the face of the locket measures approximately 1 1/8" long and 7/8" wide.
Condition: The overall condition of the locket is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold and the pearl and diamonds are intact.
