Edwardian English 9k Heart Locket Pendant
A dainty heart locket from the Edwardian (ca1910s) era! This romantic, heart-shaped pendant is crafted in 9k yellow gold, and is adorned with lovely engravings. The front of the locket feature a central heart-motif, which is surrounded by engraved swirling-motifs. The backside of the pendant features additional, highly-intricate engravings, which incorporate blooming floral, foliage, and swirling-motifs. The backside is also stamped with a maker's mark which reads: "S. BROS", both "9" and "375" purity marks, an anchor, and the letter "g". These hallmarks indicate that the piece was crafted in England. The side of the piece features a discreet latch, which allows the locket to open and close easily. When opened, the inside of the locket features 2 compartments, which would allow the wearer to insert a sentimental photograph or memento. The top of the pendant features a simple bail, which would allow the piece to easily attach to a favorite gold chain. A timeless locket, this piece would make a fantastic addition to any Edwardian-era jewelry collection!
Measurements: The locket has a height of 1 1/8" (including the bail) and has a width of 3/4".
Condition: The overall condition of the locket is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold setting, and the bail is secure and in working order. The latch which opens and closes the locket is intact and in working order.
